Explanation of nickname: I
have no idea how my nickname came about but numerous elders started calling my
"Sparky" or just "Spark" as I was growing up. Some of them still call me that.
In addition, I have had several coaches refer to me as the "sparkplug." So I
went with it.

Favorite historical player(s): Not
so historical but Paul Molitor was always one of favorites to watch as a leadoff
hitter. Love to watch old takes of the golden years where players were just
having fun.
How became involved with vintage base ball: In 2009, Night Owl asked if I was interested in getting involved with the
Grays. His son and my son are in the same grade and we both coached our son's
respective baseball teams. I had not played any competitive baseball or
softball for a couple of years so I was happy for the invite. Attended a
practice soon after and declared that I was in. I enjoyed the first season of
learning the rules, understanding the principles of base ball, and getting to
know my teammates.
